Swantons Lock

SWANTONS LOCK was conceived during the ‘lock down’ with the idea of creating a small ‘shunting layout’ that would be   interesting to operate as well as looking realistic, measuring 6ft by 18 inches on 2 baseboards, it shows what can be achieved in a small space.

The layout portrays a line feeding an industrial complex, namely the SWANTON BICYCLE works, so named after the canal locks nearby.

The finished result has I think achieved a realistic look, all the building are from SCALESCENES, the bridge over the lock has been fabricated using 3D printed girders.

Extensive use has been made of 3D printed items, these include the chimney pots, point motor holders and even the control panel.

It does not portray any actual location or time period.
