Open Day, Saturday 11th June 2016

The Southampton Model Railway Society is 50 years old in 2016. As part of our celebrations, we are holding an Open Day at our Kemps Quay clubrooms on Saturday 11th June, from 11.00 am until 4.00 pm.  Admission is free.  We regret there is no wheelchair access to our clubrooms, which are on the first floor.

The Open Day will also be extended into the local Scout Hut, which is about 100 yards away. (The Scout Hut is wheelchair friendly.)

Parking:  There is parking in front and behind the industrial park buildings and on the opposite side of Quayside Road.  Parking in the street is resticted by double yellow lines in places, but we are assured by one of our members who lives nearby that the Zone restrictions that are on the lamp posts only apply on match days during the football season.

Alexandria Road (N gauge) BR Scottish Region early 1960s

Seahaven (N gauge) BR Southern Region

Members’ Layouts:

Littleton (O gauge) BR Southern Region early/mid 1960s mostly electrics

Cartsdyke Yard (O gauge) Caledonian Railway c1922.

Littlebridge (O gauge) GWR 1930s

Quinton Lane (OO Gauge) BR West Landon 1950s/60s.

Lower Exbury (P4) BR Southern Region 1952, former light railway.

There will also be static displays of models in various scales and gauges.
